FAQs

Do you provide roadside assistance?

Yes. Autowize Car Rental provides 24/7 roadside and accident assistance to all customers in Chania, Crete, ensuring support whenever you need it.

What are the age requirements to rent a car?

All drivers must be at least 23 years old and hold a valid driving license for a minimum of 2 years at the time of rental.

What documents are required to rent a car?

The driver must present:- A valid driving license - An ID card or passport - A guarantee credit card*Drivers from non-European countries must also provide a valid International Driving Permit (IDP).* Please note: A guarantee credit card is not required for customers who have selected the S.C.D.W. (Super Collision Damage Waiver) insurance coverage.

What is your delivery and pickup policy?

Autowize allows a 45-minute grace period for late vehicle returns. After this period, the renter will be charged one additional rental day.Vehicle delivery and pickup can be arranged anywhere in Crete by prior agreement.Please note: No refunds are issued for early returns before the contract end date or time.

What is Autowize’s car interior policy?

Cars rented from Autowize must be returned clean and in the same condition as delivered.If the car is returned in a condition that cannot be cleaned with standard methods, the renter will be charged €50 for professional interior cleaning.In cases of interior damage (burns, breakage, or other damage), the renter will be charged accordingly to repair or replace the damaged parts.

What is your fuel policy?

The renter must return the vehicle with the same level of fuel as at the time of pickup.- If the car is returned with less fuel, the renter will be charged for the difference. - If the car is returned with more fuel, no refund will be issued.

Are there any prohibited uses of the rental car?

Yes. The following are strictly prohibited:- Crossing borders to another country - Transporting the vehicle by ship or ferry - Driving off-road or on non-asphalted (unpaved) roadsAny damage occurring while the vehicle is transported outside Chania is not covered by insurance.

Who is responsible for traffic fines and violations?

All traffic fines, violations, and penalties are fully the responsibility of the renter.If the vehicle’s license plates are removed by a public authority, the renter will be charged for their return. If plate removal extends the rental period, the renter will continue to be charged until the plates are returned to the vehicle.

Is VAT included in Autowize rental prices?

Yes. All prices at Autowize Car Rental include 24% VAT.
